Octopus Medium Vase (VFEU)

The Octopus Medium Vase is a decorative accessory handmade of stoneware by women artisans living at the border of Burma and Thailand. The process they used to create it is challenging and time-consuming. First the vase is thrown by one artisan; then another artist works by hand to apply the octopus to the profile of the cream vase before it is hand glazed and fired. The artful application and the dripping of the reactive blue glaze makes each piece a one-of-kind objet-d'art with a strong French Mediterranean feel.
